PHG Foundation receives Innovative Rural Development Leader Award at 3rd Ghana Philanthropy Awards
PHG Foundation Africa, a prominent community and enterprise development agency in Ghana, was honoured as the Innovative Rural Development Leaders at the 2024 Ghana Philanthropy Awards.
The awards ceremony, now in its third year, took place on November 8 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, celebrating organizations committed to uplifting communities across Ghana.

The PHG Foundation, which operates with a network of dedicated Community Impact volunteers, Team leads & Consultants throughout the country, has made remarkable strides in grassroots innovation scouting, digital entrepreneurship skills training, primary health promotion, AgriInnovation, and responsible AI research.
These initiatives, aimed at empowering rural lives and communities through innovation, were highlighted as a significant contribution to Ghana's rural development efforts.
Receiving the award, the Managing Director and Programmes Innovation Lead of PHG Foundation Africa, Michael A. Nsowah, expressed deep appreciation, noting that the recognition is both an honor and a "heavy responsibility to push for the development of rural lives and areas through more innovative solutions and strategies."
This award emphasizes the Foundation's commitment to community-driven progress, promoting sustainable development, and leveraging innovation to create lasting impact.
The event brought together high-profile dignitaries from various fields, including Oheneyere Gifty Anti, Rev. Father Campbell, and Lebanon's Ambassador to Ghana - H.E. Maher Kheir.
They joined in celebrating the accomplishments of the awardees and emphasised the importance of collaboration among changemakers.
