The facts of the case is that Mr. Carl Mawuli Atitse who is currently a teacher at Kwamekrom Day Senior High School, befriended a young lady (name withheld) in Kpando.
The lady for personal reasons severed the relationship with him.
Not happy with the lady's decision, Mr. Carl Mawuli Atitse went to her place of work at Boman City in Kpando and invited her as if to talk things over with her then at knife point forced her into a car after midnight.
According to the lady, he then drove her to a secluded bush in a nearby town Aveme in the adjourning district.
At knife point, in the dead of the night around 1am, Mr. Atitse allegedly stripped her naked, raped her and threatened to mutilate her genital so no man could have intimacy with her. He tortured her ignoring her cries and pleas for help.
Luck was on her side when a timely phone call came that his wife was in labour, which changed the turn of events.
The young lady on reaching Kpando reported the case to the Kpando police, leading to the arrest and arraignment before the court.
