As part of the promotion, the management of the Hotel has reduced its room rates. The Sales and Marketing Coordinator of the Hotel, Mr Yaw Mamphey, explained that the promotion formed part of efforts to offer alternative places of leisure to the general public.

He added that the move was also to create awareness about the existence of the facility in view of the impending yuletide.

Mr Mamphey stated that entertainment activities had been planned out during the season and that the four-star hotel provided hospitality standards befiting its status.

The Sales and Marketing Manager of the Hotel, Mr Emmanuel Mensah said the institution was opened to the public in August 2013 to replaced the Adomi Bridge which had become a household name in the area.

He indicated that the facility attracted both local and foreign tourists into the country.

He stated the vision of the hotel was to be recognised as Ghana’s premier hospitality location and a leader among local businesses.

Background

Senchi is synonymous with the Adomi Bridge because the bridge is Ghana’s only pathway on the Volta River linking the Eastern and Volta regions.

It lies in a scenic area composed of numerous tourist attractions which have transformed the town to be one of the most picturesque in the area.

Some of the tourist attractions are the Volta Gorge and the Dam, the source of the country’s electricity supplies in its nearby town, Akosombo, as well as an uninhabited island on the river.

Other attractions include the recently installed statue of Asamani, a citizen of the area, who centuries ago tricked and forced the then colonial masters and the emerging fresh tilapia markets on the shores of the river.

These facilities have made Senchi the tourist destination in Southern Ghana.
