
See the areas that will be affected by ECG's planned maintenance on August 28
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that parts of the Volta, Greater Accra, Tema, and Ashanti Regions will experience power outages on Thursday, August 28, 2025, as the company undertakes planned maintenance works.
The exercise, which ECG says is aimed at improving service delivery, will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in most affected areas, with some communities expected to have their supply restored earlier.
In the Volta Region, communities including Tokokoe, Tanyigbe, and the 66 Artillery Training Centre and its surroundings will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A second maintenance exercise in the region will affect Adonkwanta, New Town, Tokoroano, Dormabin Kparekpare, the YEA office, Ayeremu and neighbouring areas between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
In the Tema Region, power will be cut from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Lebanon Zones 2, 4 and 5, as well as Dawa, Sege, Korluedor, Addo Kope, Big Ada, Ada Foah, Inglisi, Totope, Azizanya, Treasure Island, Aqua Safari and adjoining communities.
For the Greater Accra Region, residents of Obra Spot, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Mr. Biggs, Paa Dan, Israel, Alhaji, Alogboshie, Aburi, Kitase, Gyankama, Agementi, Ayim, Ahwerease, Asuafum, Peduase Lodge, Brekuso and surrounding areas will also be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In the Ashanti Region, the exercise will affect parts of Old Tafo, Pankrono, Ahwiaa, Buokrom Estate, South Africa, Fawoade, Medoma, Atimatim, Asonomaso, Ankaase, Agona, Bampenase, Adubenkese, Adubensobea, as well as the Culture Centre, Textile International School, Porter House Academy and neighbouring communities, all between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The ECG has expressed regret over the inconvenience the outages may cause and assured customers that the exercise is necessary to enhance service reliability.
