See the areas that will be affected by ECG’s planned maintenance on July 9, 2025

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it will undertake planned maintenance works across parts of the Greater Accra, Tema and Volta Regions on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

The utility company says the exercise, scheduled between 9am and 5pm, is aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing the reliability of power supply in the affected areas.

In a series of public notices issued by ECG, residents and businesses in the listed communities have been advised to make alternative arrangements and take necessary precautions during the period of the scheduled outage.

In the Greater Accra Region, the following areas will be affected: Madina Nsamanpom, Madina Market, Teshie Agblezaa, Club Depot, Dzorwulu, Awoshie, Odorkor, Gbawe, Tuba, Kokrobite, Old Bortianor, Old Aplaku, Gbawe Top Base, McCarthy Hill, Weija Junction, Shiabu, Beach Road and surrounding areas.

In the Tema Region, power will be interrupted in Afariwaa Junction, Sanco 4, Yellow Signboard, Michel Camp Gate, Kakasunaka Number 1, Gbetsile, Soldier Line, Vienna City, Community 9 and nearby communities. The planned maintenance in this zone will run from 9am to 4pm.

For residents in the Volta Region, the scheduled outage will affect Tokokoe, Tanyigbe, the 66 Artillery Training Centre and surrounding communities.

“The ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the company said in its notices, urging residents to plan ahead to mitigate the impact.

The maintenance works are part of ECG’s ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer experience across its service areas. Customers are encouraged to stay informed through the company’s official website, www.ecg.com.gh, and other authorised communication platforms.
