
See the areas that will be affected by ECG’s planned maintenance on Wednesday, July 23, 2025
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that several communities across its Tema, Greater Accra, and Volta regions will experience temporary power outages on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, due to planned maintenance works.
The exercise, according to ECG, is part of efforts to enhance service delivery and improve the reliability of power supply to customers.
In a notice issued on Monday, July 21, 2025, the Tema Regional Office of ECG stated that the maintenance work will take place between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Areas expected to be affected include Afariwaa Junction, Sanco 4, Yellow Signboard, Michel Camp Gate, Kakasunaka #1, Gbetsile, Soldier Line, Vienna City, Community 9 and surrounding areas.
“ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” the notice read. “ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise.”
In the Volta Region, a similar operation will take place from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Affected communities include Tokokoe, Tanyigbe, the 66 Artillery Training Center, and its surroundings.
A separate statement from the Greater Accra Regional Office also confirmed a maintenance operation slated for the same day and timeframe; from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Residents and businesses in Soul Clinic Junction, Rawlings Circle, Akosombo, Madina, Odorkor, Awoshie, Gbawe, Tunga Down, and their surrounding areas will experience power interruptions as engineers carry out technical upgrades.
The ECG apologised to customers for the inconvenience but reiterated that the scheduled exercise is crucial to sustaining efficient and stable electricity supply in the affected areas.
Residents and businesses are urged to plan accordingly and power will be restored promptly upon completion of the works.
