Sharing is love – Rev. Danquah

The Head Pastor of the Liberty Centre Assemblies of God Church at Estates, a suburb of Sunyani, Rev. Joseph Danquah, has advised Christians and Ghanaians in general to cultivate and demonstrate the habit of sharing as a way of showing true love to their neighbours.

He said sharing what they had with those who lacked was one way of demonstrating true love among themselves.

Special exercise

Rev. Danquah was speaking on  the church’s premises at the closing session of a month-long exercise aimed at sharing the blessings of God with others.

The head pastor explained that the special exercise was in two dimensions – spiritual and social.

According to him, members of the church fasted and prayed for a month to intercede for the nation and its people.

The theme for the spiritual exercise was: “The Lord will Prosper us “(Nehemiah 2:20)”.

Rev. Danquah said just as in the biblical days, Nehemiah, though a wealthy person, did not keep his blessing to himself but mobilised the Israelites to rise up, pray and build a prosperous Israel, so had the congregation of the Assemblies of God, Liberty Centre decided to help build mother Ghana for the benefits of its people.

Social

He said during the month–long intercessory programme, the church attended to the needs of orphans and schoolchildren

Rev. Danquah said members of the church visited the Yawhema Children’s Home and presented assorted food items, mattresses and clothing valued at GH¢2,500.

He said the church, in partnership with his daughter and son in-law (Sarah Nana Ama and Mr Yeboah), also renovated a four-unit classroom block for the Nwowasu Presbyterian Primary School at Nwowasu, near Atronie in the Sunyani – East District of the Brong- Ahafo Region, at a cost of GH¢10,000.

Message to Ghanaians

Rev. Danquah advised Ghanaians to stop blaming each other for every mishap, and rather pull resources for the benefit of all.

Blame–game

“Let us stop the blame game at home, school, church, workplaces and in the political arena and try hard to share whatever is available with others in order to build a supportive, peaceful and prosperous society,” he concluded.
