Six killed in Tuobodom clashes

Six people were killed Wednesday afternoon in violent clashes in Tuobodom near Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region. The clashes said to have ethnic undercurrents has resulted in tension in the town with threats of reprisal attacks .

Two of the deceased who were reportedly shot dead were burnt beyond recognition, the Tuobodom Police Commander, DSP Peter Sekyi has confirmed.
Three houses were also torched in the process with rivals firing gun shots.

Police and Military have stormed the area to restore calm. In an interview on radio, the District Police Commander, DSP Peter Sekyi said the incident started about 4pm Wednesday,

The police commander said no arrests have been made as of now and that the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Holy Family Hospital morgue at Techiman. He said police and military personnel were still patrolling the town.
