Mahama announces empowerment programme for women and PWDs

President John Dramani Mahama has announced the launch of the Empowerment for Women and People with Disabilities Programme this year to enhance economic opportunities for marginalised groups.

The initiative, spearheaded by Vice President Professor Nana Opoku Agyeman, will focus on women, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups by providing capacity-building support and access to finance to help them establish sustainable employment.

Speaking during his State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Mahama also outlined plans to equip young people with digital skills through the Ministry of Communication, Digital, and Innovation.

"Under the One Million Coders Programme, young people will receive training in coding, web and app development, digital marketing, and other essential digital skills," he stated.
