The roads to be affected include the 28th February Road, from the CEPS headquarters to the Castle Junction, the Osu Cemetery Traffic Light to the Accra Sports Stadium, the Starlets 95 Road at the Ministries traffic lights and from the Cross Road towards the Independence Arch.

A statement issued by the police, however, gave an assurance that special arrangements had been put in place to minimise any inconvenience.

It said the Forecourt of the State House, the Accra International Conference Centre, the Intercontinental Bank car park, the Osu Cemetery car park, the Accra Sports Stadium car park and the Ministries area had been earmarked for car parking for those attending the programme.

It further said traffic police officers would be available to direct and assist motorists to appropriate car parks and diverted roads.

“Motorists are advised to avoid parking within the perimeter of the circle around the Independence Arch and on the verges of the roads close to the area and adhere to the road diversions to ease traffic. Motorists and the general public are once again urged to co-operate with the police to ensure effective traffic management,” it said.
