It’s not in anybody’s interest to dwell on the occasional jostling between TMA and TDC, Mr Odamtten made the observation when he paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of TDC, Mr Joe Abbey, and the management of the corporation.
The newly appointed chief executive said the visit was also to enable him to formally introduce himself to them.
Mr Odamtten explained that he chose to visit TDC to show that the two institutions had something in common and needed to work together.
He noted that the TMA had planned to collaborate with the TDC to make Tema meet the expectations and needs of its residents and business interests.
Mr Odamtten said the visit was also to set the tone for further collaboration between the two key institutions whose duty was to bring Tema to its rightful status.
He suggested that the two set up more joint technical committees to streamline their activities to remove duplications that had characterised some of the development efforts of the metropolis.
Mr Joe Abbey, who received the MCE,expressed the gratitude of the board, management and staff of the corporation for the visit.
He commended Mr Odamtten for the gesture, noting that “it is important that the two institutions work together for the benefit of all”.
In a related development, the new Municipal Chief Executive of Ashaiman , Mr Ibrahim Baidoo, also has called on the MD of TDC to formally introduce himself. He called for a closer collaboration between the Ashaiman assembly and TDC.
