The police have killed three suspected armed robbers in Tema. It followed a police patrol team's response to a distress call, which reportedly led to a confrontation with the suspects, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
The police in a statement said personnel from the Tema Regional Police Command on July 21, 2025, responded to a distress call regarding armed men numbering about ten breaking into a warehouse at the Tema Industrial Area.
The police said three of the suspects were shot in the process and have been pronounced dead.
The remaining suspects some of whom are believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, fled the scene.
Exhibits recovered from them include: a Bruni mod foreign pistol, a double-barrelled locally manufactured pistol with two rounds of ammunition and 1 live BB ammunition.
The bodies have been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue for identification, preservation and autopsy while investigations are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects.
