The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mrs Effia Tenge, confirmed the story.
Briefing
She said the rainfall, which started at about 10:30 a.m. last Tuesday, was accompanied by lighting and thunder.
Mrs Tenge said two buildings belonging to the Taribiyo M/A Junior High School (JHS) and St Peters Primary and JHS had their roofs ripped off.
Two pupils of the schools, whose identities were not readily available, also sustained various degrees of injury in the process.
They have since been treated and discharged from the Amanfrom Polyclinic.
A fuel station near the Amanfrom Polyclinic was also hit by the storm, resulting in the collapse of a concrete stand at the station.

But for the timely intervention of the Weija District Fire Service personnel, who were able to wash away leaked fuel, the fuel station would have caught fire.
She said the management of the fuel filling station was advised to stop operating until the pumping machine was fixed.
