TI Ahmadiyya SHS: Police arrest student for stabbing classmate over mobile phone dispute

Iddrissu Ibrahim, a final-year student of the TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Wa, was stabbed last night by a fellow student.

Ibrahim is reported to be in critical but stable condition and is currently receiving treatment at the Wa Regional Hospital.

The incident occurred around 9 pm on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, following an argument between the two students over a video recording allegedly made of the suspect.

The Upper West Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police Darko Offei Lomotey, confirmed the incident to GraphicOnline.

Arrest

The suspect has since been arrested and is in police custody assisting with investigations.

The police have also deployed plain-clothed personnel to the school as part of their ongoing inquiries.

It is alleged that Ibrahim filmed the suspect without his knowledge. When the suspect confronted him and demanded that the video be deleted, Ibrahim reportedly refused and ignored the warning.

This led to a confrontation, during which the suspect allegedly stabbed Ibrahim with a knife.
