The Ghana Police Service, through the Motor Traffic and Transport Department, has rescheduled the full implementation of the automated traffic law enforcement programme, TRAFFITECH-GH, from October 1 to November 1, 2026.
In a press release issued on September 29, the Service said the rescheduling is to allow for more extensive public awareness and education on the programme, including its operations, the traffic offences to be detected, and the Electronic Notices of Violation to be issued to offending motorists.
TRAFFITECH-GH forms part of efforts by the Service to address indiscipline on Ghana's roads and improve compliance with road traffic laws and regulations.
The Ghana Police Service has therefore urged motorists, drivers, and vehicle owners to take advantage of the additional period to familiarise themselves with the programme ahead of the roll-out.
The Service expressed gratitude to the media for its unwavering support throughout the introduction of the project and reaffirmed its commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of TRAFFITECH-GH for improved road safety.
