TV3 organises blood donation

The fourth edition of TV3’s annual blood donation exercise has taken place in Accra, with about 500 people turning up to voluntarily donate blood.

The exercise, organised by TV3 Network Limited, was intended to contribute to the stockpile of blood at the National Blood Bank.

Briefing journalists on the status of the exercise, the Head of Corporate Communication and Legal Services at TV3, Mrs Nicholina Annor-Adjei, said besides stocking the blood bank, the event was directed at creating among the population awareness of the essence of donating blood, which is to save lives.

According to her, Ghanaians ought to make it a responsibility to donate blood and assist increase stocks at the national blood bank.

She said when the national blood bank was filled to capacity, there would not be needless loss of lives and the nation would benefit from a healthy population. 

She urged the youth to put a stop to unhealthy lifestyles and make blood donation a regular affair.
