Two of them, named as Nana Yaw Obrempong, who reports for Accra based Citi FM, and one Ebo, a cameraman for Viasat1 TV, were injured.

Ebo has since been treated and discharged, but Obrempong, who was said to have sustained a serious fracture in the leg, is still in hospital.

According to Graphic Online’s Western Regional reporter, Moses Dotsey Aklorbortu, the accident happened at the outskirts of Takoradi.

The journalists were returning to Takoradi after covering the commissioning of a school at Bameanko when the mini bus they were travelling in was involved in the accident.

President John Dramani Mahama commissioned the school [free SHS] as part of his #Changinglives tour of the Western and Central regions.

According to our reporter, the mini bus hit the back of a pick up vehicle, injuring the journalists.

Earlier media reports suggested the accident involved the presidential press corps but Graphic Online's Presidential correspondent, Kwame Asare Boadu clarified that journalists attached to the Flagstaff House were not involved in the accident.

He explained the team that travelled with the President has arrived in the central region to continue with the President's #Changinglives tour.
