Gloria Amfo was convicted after she shifted from her not guilty plea to admit guilt.

The court, presided over by Mrs Rita Agyeman-Badu, ordered that the four-year victim should be returned to the mother.

The convict was spotted with the little girl at an obscure corner of Kajetia lorry terminal in the early hours of February 3 and that aroused the suspicion of one Nana Amponsah Obaako-Pim, who asked to be told where she was going with the child.

Police Chief Inspector Rose Essuman said Gloria could not give any convincing answers and she was consequently handed over to the police.

Investigations by the police anti-human trafficking unit traced the biological parent to Tema New Town in the Greater Accra Region, the community where the convict also lived.
