Finance Ministry approves disbursement of GH¢4m to settle outstanding Korle-Bu Renal Unit debt
The Ministry of Finance has approved the disbursement of GH¢4 million to settle the outstanding debt at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) Renal Unit Outpatient Department.
This is to enable Renal Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to function uninterrupted and be able to serve outpatients.
The outpatient department of the Renal Unit was closed in May 2023 due to debt,

The closure of the Renal Unit to outpatients also inconvenienced patients who were relying on dialysis services, forcing them to seek treatment elsewhere at a higher cost.
The facility reopened to outpatients on Tuesday Nov 6, 2023, through a directive by the Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman-Manu.
