We are grateful to Ensign Global College — Manye Maku
The Manya Krobo Divisional Queenmother at Kpong in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region, Manye Maku I, has expressed gratitude to the Ensign Global College at Kpong for the institution’s massive support for the health centres project currently ongoing.
“In fact, we the committee members of the Kpong Health Centre at Ayipala are short of words to express our profound gratitude to all institutions, individuals, philanthropists and above all the Ensign Global College at Kpong for the massive and wholehearted support for the project in the interest of humanity,” she said.

Roofing sheets
She expressed her gratitude when she received a complete set of iron sheets for the roofing from Ensign Global College at a total cost of GH¢47,165.92 recently.
According to Manye Maku, the college, apart from purchasing iron sheets for the final roofing, had earlier donated materials and cash to support the project, adding “the administration of the college had played a very major role in the project, and we, the committee members, need to appreciate it”.
She said apart from all that the college has done as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), the college recently renovated a place of convenience for the health centre which was handed over to the management.
Health centre
Manye Maku as far back as 2003 saw the need to expand the Kpong Health Centre at Ayipala due to the fast rate at which Kpong, a cosmopolitan area in the Lower Manya Krobo municipality, was expanding.
She therefore singlehandedly started the expansion project with beds, plastic chairs, rubber containers, a urinal, among many other items.
Manye Maku last year, with the help of organisations and individuals, started building a maternity block for the health centre.

She appealed to, especially the Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service and Lower Manya Krobo municipal Assembly, to support with iron sheets for roofing but none responded except Ensign Global College.
Manye Maku said while receiving the iron sheets that, even though the major request had been met, there were equally important items and other things to be done and therefore no donation, especially cash, was too late.
A representative of the college, Dr Stephen Manortey, said what the college had done so far for the Kpong Health Centre construction was part of the corporate social responsibility to the community where the college is located.
He hoped that collaboration would continue in the interest of quality healthcare delivery to the people in the community.
