Methodist bishop calls for mass national blood donation exercise

The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana, Most Rev.Titus Awotwi Pratt has called for a national mass blood donation exercise to help save lives.

According to him, many lives have been lost as a result of inadequate blood at the National Blood Bank, a major problem that the country currently faces.

He was speaking at a corporate banking blood donation ceremony which was organised by the World Trade Centre branch of the Unibank in Accra.

Most Rev. Awotwi Pratt observed that most Ghanaians had become reluctant to donate blood due to various reasons.

"Even our Lord Jesus said we should be our brother’s keeper, so I do not see why someone will not help save a life by donating blood," he stated.
