They are Messrs Joseph Omari, (Kwahu South), Abass Fuseini Sbaabe (Fanteakwa) and Windham Affram (Kwahu Afram Plains North).

While Omari had 91 per cent of the votes cast, Windham obtained 77 per cent, with Sbaabe securing 79 per cent; all far more than the two-thirds of the total votes needed to carry the day.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs Helen Adjoa Ntoso, who swore them into office, advised them not to play politics with the provision of social amenities which must be done irrespective of political affiliations.

That, she stated, would win the confidence of the people to make the region a stronghold of the National Democratic Congress.

According to her, in general elections, the conduct of political heads in the municipalities and districts could either lead to winning or losing, and as such, they should stay focused and administer their areas without discriminating against any person or community.

That, she indicated, would make it possible for the government to be retained in 2016 to continue with its good work, adding: “we are on track with the provision of social amenities, despite challenges.”

Mrs Ntoso, who asked the three as well as other municipal and district chief executives in the region, to present their action plans indicating what they would do next year for the communities, said the government had already done a lot in terms of social amenities for the people.

The municipal and district chief executives, she stated, should therefore do their best to accelerate the development of their area.

Mr Omari, on behalf of his colleagues, gave the assurance that they would do their best to win the confidence of the people.

“We will polish the rough edges to meet the aspirations of the people,” Mr Omari assured.
