African Summit to honour Kufuor, others
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor and other eminent personalities will be honoured at the African Summit for their contribution to the continent’s development.

The others are the President of the Central University, Professor Kojo Yankah, and the Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Mr Kenneth Ashigbey.
This was contained in a release signed by the Summit Coordinator, Mr Seth Owusu-Mante, in Accra.
Agenda
The agenda of the summit is focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
According to the release, a communique would be issued on how the government and businesses could collaborate for the achievement of the SDGs in Ghana through a panel discussion addressing the subject.
It added that former President Kufuor would be honoured for his dedication and commitment to the SDGs through his JAK Foundation.
Awardees
“Professor Yankey will be celebrated for his exceptional and continuous administration and academic contribution to education ... and intellectual discourses geared towards the growth and development of Ghana,” the statement said.
It added that Mr Ashigbey would be honoured for his unparalleled leadership skills and strategic directions in strengthening and maintaining the GCGL’s status as the leading media agency in Ghana.

Professor Enoynam Yao Kwawukume would also be honoured for his vision for the health sector that led to the birth of the Family Health Medical School in Ghana.
“Farida Bedwei will be celebrated as the African Rising Star for her accomplishment as a young Ghanaian being a force to reckon with in Information Technology.
“The chairman of the World Trade Centre, Togbe Afede XIV, will be honoured as the Business and Entrepreneurship Laureate for his impact on the business and economic landscape in the country and his exceptional entrepreneurial and business skills and acumen,” it concluded.
