The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Birim Central, Mr Kwabena Nkansah-Asare, made this known at the first ordinary meeting of the first session of the seventh assembly at Oda last Thursday.
He noted with pride that the weak bridge spanning the Birim River at Oda linking the Oda-New Abirem-Nkawkaw main road, which has become a death trap, would be rehabilitated by engineers of the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
According to Mr Nkansah–Asare, the project would commence in the second week of November, 2015 and would last for four weeks.
He said the assembly had completed a number of development projects this year which were funded by the Urban Development Grant and the District Development Facility.
The projects include the construction of a two-unit lecture hall at the Oda Community Health Nurses Training School, passengers waiting lounge/toll booth at the Oda central lorry park and a culvert at Community 6, a suburb of Oda.
Others are the construction of a six-classroom block with ancillary facilities at Akyem Manso Presbyterian Primary School, a footbridge at Morning Star at Oda, a footbridge at PWD camp at Oda, a six-seater water closet toilet facility at Oda Senior High School, Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound at Suponso and Yaw Donkor and the rehabilitation of the Municipal Chief Executive’s bungalow also at Oda.
