Bryan Acheampong concludes Oti Region tour, pledges inclusive leadership ahead of NPP primaries

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, Dr Bryan Acheampong, has concluded his campaign tour of the Oti Region with a strong message of unity, inclusivity, and renewal as he seeks to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.

During the tour, Dr Acheampong met with party delegates, executives, former executives, grassroots supporters, and members of the Council of Elders. He commended the people of Oti for their warmth, openness, and loyalty to the NPP, describing them as a source of inspiration for his vision of a united and progressive party.

“The people of Oti have shown me that our strength as a party lies in our unity and determination. I am inspired by their resilience, and I promise that together, we will build a stronger, more inclusive NPP that leaves no constituency behind,” Dr Acheampong said at the close of his visit.

He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening party structures across all constituencies, particularly in regions where the NPP is working to expand its support base. As part of this commitment, Dr Acheampong announced the adoption of the Guan Constituency as one of the orphan constituencies under his support, pledging resources to help build the party’s presence there.

“This gesture is a demonstration of my belief that every constituency — whether with or without an NPP MP — deserves equal attention and investment to grow the party’s reach ahead of 2028,” he explained.

The Oti Region marks the fifth leg of Dr Acheampong’s nationwide campaign tour, following visits to the Eastern, Greater Accra, Ashanti, and Volta Regions, where he has been engaging party members on his message of renewal and results-oriented leadership.

Dr Acheampong has campaigned with a message of inclusivity, particularly in regions considered politically challenging for the NPP. His emphasis on grassroots empowerment and equitable development has been seen as an attempt to bridge internal divides and re-energise the party ahead of the crucial presidential primaries.

Dr Acheampong is one of five aspirants cleared by the NPP’s vetting committee to contest the upcoming presidential primary scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026. The other candidates are former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Minister of Education and MP for Bosomtwe Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, former General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, and former MP for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

Following his engagements in the Oti Region, Dr Acheampong is expected to continue his nationwide campaign with a visit to the Central Region, where he will meet with delegates and party executives to share his vision for what he calls “a results-driven, unifying, and visionary leadership.”
