Christ's resurrection should rekindle spirit of being each other's keeper - Sir John

The Chief Executive (CEO) of the Forestry Commission (FC), Mr Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has said that the resurrection of Jesus Christ should rekindle the spirit of being each other's keeper at the time the whole world is in crisis because of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

"The best way to honour Jesus Christ for dying for our sins is to show true love and care to each other in these terrible times, " he said.

Mr Afriyie in an Easter message said: "Speaking in tongues, clapping and going to Church at this moment does not matter, what is important is for us to think about how we can hold each other's hands."

Mr Afriyie said that it is time to show that you can feed people when they are hungry, clothe them when they are naked and visit them when they are in prison.

"Our lights must shine on men in these crucial times and that is what the resurrection of Jesus Christ should be about in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, " he said.

Mr Afriyie, who is also a former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), said that serving humanity was Godly and must be promoted at all levels of life.

"In the midst of COVID-19, let us endeavour to practice measures that will help prevent the spread of the deadly virus," he said.

He added: "Let us remain Godly by observing practices that will help us in overcoming the COVID-19."
