CODEO charges new EC Chair to be ‘neutral’

The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) has asked the newly appointed chair of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs Charlotte Kesson-Smith Osei, to excute her “responsibility with uttermost professionalism, teamwork and neutrality at all times”.

Congratulating Mrs Osei on her appointment as head of Ghana’s EC, CODEO also urged all stakeholders to work with the new chair and play their respective roles in ensuring that Ghana’s electoral process is enhanced in future elections.

This was contained in a pres release signed by the co-chair persons of CODEO, Professor Miranda Greentstreet and Justice Vincent C.R.A.C Crabbe.

CODEO further urged the new chairman to do all she could to help develop public trust in the commission and to work hard to strengthen internal structures of the commission to make it more effective.

According to the statement, CODEO promised to continue to offer its fullest support to Mrs Osei.
