EC holds pilot voter registration on Saturday

The Electoral Commission has upgraded the Biometric Registration Kits (BVR Kits) for the upcoming limited voter registration and subsequent registration exercises.

The Commission will, therefore, undertake a pilot registration of voters to test the upgraded kits in selected polling stations in all the 10 regions on Saturday March 12, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In a press release signed by Mr Amadu Sulley, Deputy Chairman of the EC, it stated the selected polling stations are in the Western Region— the Catholic Day Care Centre Polling Station in the Kwesimintim Constituency and at the Police Station, Sompaduase Polling Station in the Mpohor Constituency.

 

In the Central Region, Cape Coast South Constituency’s exercise will take place at the Metro Assembly Office Polling Station and at the Catholic Primary School at Yamoransa in the Mfantseman Constituency.

In the Volta Region, the exercise will take place at the GPRTU A and Adaklu at Waya Gbogame JHS in the Ho Central Constituency.

The Greater Accra Region will have its exercise at the Lords Pentecostal Church and the TMA Day Care Santeo polling stations in the Ashaiman and Kpone Kantamanso constuencies, respectively.

In the Eastern Region, it will be at Community Centre, Effiduase, and M/A Primary School, Sokode Juaso, in the New Juaben North and Abuakwa North constituencies, respectively.

In the Ashanti Region, the exercise will take place at the Old Palace Polling Station in the Asawase Constituency, Asokore Mampong and at the Achaise M/A Primary School at Ejisu.

In the Brong Ahafo Region, it will take place at the R/C Primary School in the Berekum East Constituency, Cato in the Dormaa East and at the Local Council Hall at Wamfie.

In the Northern Region, the Yendi Constituency’s exercise will take place at the Yendi Sec School ‘A’ and at the Sang Islamic Primary School in the Mion Constituency.

The Upper East Region will have its turn at the ZAMSTECH Polling Station in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency and at the Saligba polling station in the Bongo Constituency.

In the Upper West, the exercise will take place at the Wa Technical School Polling station in the Wa Central Constituency and at the Junior High School at Loho in the Nadowli Kaleo Constituency.

All political parties and prospective voters in the selected polling stations are entreated to participate fully to ensure a successful exercise.
