EC urges public to be patient as results await declaration
The Electoral Commission (EC) has assured the public that the certified results of Saturday’s presidential and parliamentary elections will be made available as soon as possible.
Benjamin Bano-Bio, the Director of Electoral Services at the EC, addressed the media at the EC’s headquarters in Accra around 8 a.m. today, urging citizens to stay patient and follow the periodic updates provided by the commission.

This comes amid growing public frustration, particularly on social media, over the EC’s delay in declaring the election results since Saturday.
“For the information of the general public, as we speak, no results have been received at the National Collation Centre. And I repeat, no results have been received at the National Collation Centre from the regions. Our feedback from the field is that the results are trickling into the regional collation centres hence our inability to publish these results at the National Collation Centre,” he said
“We want to assure that as we receive the results, region by region, they will be published. We urge all citizens to exercise patience and follow the EC's periodic announcement. We will keep you updated as we have done over the past 24 hours,” Mr Bano-Bio added.
The Director of Electoral Services at the EC called on EC officials across the country, both permanent and temporary to be firm in carrying out their duties as expected.
He also urged the agents of the political parties and various candidates to cooperate with the EC’s staff to ensure the transmission of accurate results at both the constituency and regional levels.
