Elect individuals with character, dignity- PNC chairman to delegates

The National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mr. Bernard Mornah has advised party delegates to elect individuals with character and dignity to lead the party to victory in the general elections on December 7.

“There’s much expectation from you to ensure that the 2020 election cannot be like the previous elections, the party must grow bigger and stronger,” he said.

Mr. Mornah stated this ahead of the National delegate congress Wednesday, which holds across the country.

Vote with integrity
“I trust your judgement because in 2016, we saw motorbikes and mobile phones loaded into cars but because you were determined to vote for integrity, you ignored all those things and decided to vote for people that will be able to deliver,” he said.

He said although the party was facing financial crisis, some delegates were promising heaven on earth just to secure votes.

“We are in a time where it is even difficult to organise constituency and regional conferences, individuals who are campaigning for positions have so much and are making bigger promises. This is selfishness because they have such resources and yet they don’t avail it for the party to move forward,” he stressed.

Winning election 2020
He further expressed his excitement that the party was holding its congress in the month when the founder of the country, Dr Kwame Nkrumah was born.

“He said that “we are holding the congress in the birth month of the founder of this country, this means that Ghana is going to be reborn come December 2020 because the PNC shall certainly come to power,” Mr. Mornah said.

“This election is witnessing for the first time, two presidents who have served a four-year term but we are convinced that by the end of the day, whether the elephant wants to push all the trees around or the umbrella want to cover everything, they will all fall and the coconut tree will survive,” he added.
