Electoral Commission opens national election results collation centre to all media
The Electoral Commission (EC) has opened up the national election results collation centre to all media houses contrary to the earlier announced limited access to the media.
At a press conference, the EC Chairperson, Mrs Jean Mensa, highlighted the commission’s commitment to ensuring transparency, responsiveness and inclusiveness throughout the electoral process.

“Today, the commission has accredited 10,000 journalists to cover all aspects of the election process. This will provide the citizenry with timely, verified information and inject the needed transparency into all stages of our work,” the chairperson stated.
The national election results collation centre in Accra serves as the hub where final results from all 276 constituencies are validated and declared.
It is equipped with systems to ensure accurate data collation, and election officials are on standby to address any concerns or discrepancies that may arise.
The EC has also introduced a toll-free hotline to address any public concerns or issues from the field. Citizens are encouraged to report incidents promptly, with assurance from the commission that dedicated staff are ready to resolve them in real time.
The chairperson expressed gratitude for the smooth progress of voting reported across the country’s over 38,000 polling stations.
“Reports reaching us indicate that the elections are proceeding well. We are confident this process will conclude successfully,” she said.

The chairperson called for peace and stability, urging all stakeholders, including the media, to collaborate in ensuring a credible electoral process.
The national collation centre is expected to provide regular updates on the progress of the results collation, culminating in the final declaration of Ghana’s next president and parliamentary representatives.
