Regina S. Nutornutsi, who was adjudged the Overall Best Worker for 2013, on behalf of the award winners, thanked the planning committee for the honour done them, and encouraged the indigenes in the municipality to do more for its development.

Challenges

In an address, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Aristo Aryee, recounted some of the challenges the municipality had been battling with since he assumed office a year ago.

He explained that since there was no database on the municipality, it had challenges mobilising revenue from the people.

The MCE added that the development of structures in the municipality was another challenging issue as most of the structures had no permits.

He said his administration had, meanwhile, put in measures to address the challenges.

Successes chalked up

In spite of the challenges, Mr Aryee said the assembly had performed tremendously in road construction and added that similar successes had been chalked up in health service delivery, community development  and civic education.

Mr Aryee applauded the current Member of Parliament (MP) for the Anyaa/Sowutuom constituency, Ms Sherry Ayorkor Botchway, for helping to provide office accommodation for the health directorate in the municipality.

He called on the indigenes to be committed to the development of the communities in the municipalities.
