Ga South MCE urges accountability
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga South, Mr. Jerry Akwei Thompson, has underscored the need for openness and accountability for progress and development.
“One thing which leads to mistrust and retards national progress and development is the lack of openness and accountability in every endeavour,” he stated.

He was advising the newly elected executive members of the Bortianor Sea View Landowners Association in his office in Accra on Wednesday.
The executive members had paid a courtesy call on the MCE to explore formal relations with the assembly, as well as get acquainted with its development plans.
Mr. Thompson assured the executive of the assembly’s preparedness to work with them to meet the aims and objectives of the municipality, as well as the association.
Street naming/house numbering
Touching on what the assembly planned to do next year, Mr Thompson disclosed that the street-naming and house-numbering exercise would be completed to open up the municipality for easy identification and investment.
Concerning security, he said plans were advanced for the Toll Booth Police Station along the Weija-Kasoa road to be inaugurated soon.
He said further arrangements were in place to secure a site for another permanent police station at New Bortianor to serve the people.

“Security is very important and one area we are focusing on is to get a police station at New Bortianor,” he declared.
He expressed concern over the activities of land guards within the municipality, describing those activities as a threat to lives and properties.
He, therefore, advised all those engaged in illegal land guard activities to stop because the laws of the land would not spare anyone caught in those fraudulent acts.
Roads
Mr. Thompson also mentioned a number of road projects the assembly would undertake next year, including that from Red Top to the West Hill Mall at Donkunor.
