AAP outlines vision for nation

The Action Alliance Party (APP), a newly registered political party, has outlined its vision for transforming Ghana into a just, equitable and prosperous nation.

Agriculture is the backbone of the economy, and the party believed that by embracing modern techniques and sustainable practices, it could transform agriculture into a thriving sector.

“We envision a Ghana where farmers are empowered with access to high-quality seeds, modern irrigation systems and training programmes. By investing in agro-tech and supporting our farmers, we cannot only boost food production but also ensure food security for all.

“Through smart farming initiatives—such as precision agriculture and data analytics—we can optimise resource use, increase yield and reduce waste,” he said.

A statement signed by its Founder, Namuru Tahiru, explained that after being granted its final certificate on October 2, this year, the party’s core vision begins with agricultural revolution.

He said AAP would focus on bridging the gaps between farmers and markets, providing real-time data and connecting them to consumers directly through technology.

That, Mr Tahiru said, would ensure fair pricing and reduce post-harvest losses, creating a more resilient agricultural sector.

Education

The AAP, he added, believed in the importance of education as a core foundation of the country, saying the APP would work to make education not only accessible but tailored to meet the demands of the 21st century through vocational training, and Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics education.

That, he said, would equip the youth with the needed skills to compete in the global market.

Support for NPP

Going into the 2024 elections, the founder announced that the party had decided to support the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, adding, “Ghana must build on its gains”.

Mr Tahiru said voting for a reset of the economy would mean bringing dumsor back and cancelling teachers' allowance.

He said it was therefore important for the party to collaborate and work together for a victory for Dr Bawumia and the NPP parliamentary candidates come December 7, to help the NPP to continue their great work to build a better Ghana.

“Dr Bawumia’s vision for Ghana is closely aligned with our party's vision. Dr Bawumia’s commitment to digitalisation and economic transformation resonates deeply with our vision for a green economic transformation.”
