Dr Bawumia made the appeal at his Youth Connect programme held at the Akyem Oda Methodist Conference Hall in the Eastern Region last Monday evening.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Dr Bawumia advised them to translate their massive support into votes on December 7, 2024 to make his electoral victory a reality.

He stressed that the current NPP administration had constructed more roads, hospitals, provided potable water and educational infrastructure more than any other government in the fourth republic.

Pledge

Dr Bawumia promised that his government would reduce the cost of electricity by 50 per cent by moving the country to solar power by bringing 2,000 solar power equipment next year.

He said in order to reduce the cost of public transport, he would import electric vehicles to reduce the reliance on petrol-powered vehicles whose usage was expensive.

According to Dr Bawumia, Ghana is the first country in the world to use drones to cart medicines to the health facilities in the hinterlands during emergencies.

He said under his administration, the Ghana Card could be used travel to many countries in the world when travellers had no passports, adding that Ghanaians could also apply for passports by using their Ghana cards.

Dr Bawumia said 18 million Ghana Cards had been distributed to Ghanaians.

He stated that Ghana was the first country in Africa and the second in the world to adopt the digital address system.

Dr Bawumia hinted that his administration would award scholarships equitably among male and female students in tertiary education institutions.

Interventions

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, who is also a Deputy Minister of Health, enumerated many interventions the Oda Constituency had benefitted from the NPP government through the instrumentality of Dr Bawumia.

The facilities include the reconstruction of the Oda central market which was destroyed by fire and the rehabilitation of many school blocks which were damaged by rainstorm.

He assured Dr Bawumia that the Oda Constituency would give him 90 per cent presidential votes come December 7, 2024 to cushion him to become the next President of the republic.

A member of Dr Bawumia's campaign team, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, stressed that the upcoming general election would decide the future of the country, and therefore admonished the youth who constituted the majority of the voter population not only to vote for Dr Bawumia, but should also encourage as many registered voters as possible to do the same.

The National Youth Organiser of the NPP, Salam Mustapha, who was overwhelmed by the massive turnout, enjoined the NPP youth to intensify their house-to-house, lorry parks and market campaigns for the masses to vote for Dr Bawumia and all NPP parliamentary candidates in the forthcoming general election.
