I’m not perturbed about accusations — Sekyere Central DCE

In spite of the opposition from some stakeholders to his reappointment as the Chief Executive of the Sekyere Central District Assembly, Mr Kwadwo Banahene Bediako seems unperturbed and believes that his performance will speak for him.

He believed that his uncompromising nature was the cause of the strong opposition from people who wanted him to bend the rules to favour them.

According to him, even if he was not reappointed, he would leave office proud of his performance.

A group calling itself New Patriotic Party (NPP) Concerned Citizens of Sekyere Central District has for the past six months mounted a campaign to oppose the reappointment of Mr Bediako as the DCE, accusing him of nepotism, disrespect and abuse of office.

In a press statement issued and signed by Mr Kwasi Owusu, a patron of the group, the members appealed to the President not to reappoint Mr Bediako.

According to the group, the DCE sidelined electoral areas whose assembly members opposed his decisions.

Allegations

However, when contacted, Mr Bediako said he was unperturbed about the campaign against his reappointment.

He asked those supporting the faceless concerned citizens to stop the mudslinging.

According to him, all interested parties for the position would face a panel to be assessed for the position and asked those levelling the allegations to petition the panel if they had any evidence.

Candidates

So far, five people have applied for the position of the chief executive of Sekyere Central.

They are Mr Victor Osei Poku, Mr Kingsley Koduah Benjamin, Dr Agyemang Sarkodie, Mr Kwadwo Banahene Bediako and Mr Kwabena Owusu.
