The forum, held on Sunday, November 08, 2020, was used to sensitise the political party leaders to the need to conduct themselves well during electioneering for peace to prevail in the area.
Peace pact
Three aspiring parliamentary candidates for the constituency, Mr Joseph A. Tetteh of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Moro Masawudu of the Ghana Union Movement, Mr Alpha Issifu, an independent candidate, as well as Nana Sipim, the Constituency Chairman of the NPP who represented the Parliamentary Candidate for the NPP, Hopeson Adorye, committed themselves to a peaceful election and signed a peace deal at the forum.
The four contenders made the commitment to follow electoral rules and ensure that Ghana stays peaceful after the election.
They pledged to use legal means to seek redress on any misunderstanding that might ensue among them and their political opponents before, during and after the election.
Fairness
Speaking at the forum, Mr Tetteh called for fairness from all stakeholders in the electioneering process.

A member of the campaign team of the NPP, Mr Willam Josiah, said his side, which had never won the seat since 1992, had always embraced the outcome in the interest of peace.
For his part, Chief Moro Masawudu, said Ghana was noted for peace and that accolade must be sustained, since violence retarded development.
Mr Issifu also urged voters to go home after casting their votes instead of massing up at collation centres.
