A member of Alan Kyerematen’s campaign for President, Hopeson Adorye, has said Mr Kyerematen’s government will consist of 50 per cent women if elected.

Mr Adorye, the campaign’s team lead, made this known in an interaction with the media when the Movement for Change Caravan Tour stormed the Volta Region.

He said the pledge was not mere rhetoric, but a serious plan to radically shift the balance of power in favour of women’s leadership.

“Alan has promised that if elected, 50 per cent of his government will be women. This is not just talk; it’s a commitment to change the narrative around women in leadership,” Mr Adorye said.

This drew cheers from the crowd as Kyerematen’s message of empowerment resonated deeply with the audience.

Mr Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan (GTP) gender parity goal is complemented by a strong focus on youth empowerment, with a target of 60 per cent youth involvement, half of whom will be women.

“We are determined to ensure that women have a real stake in governance. Many governments pay lip service to this, but Alan is serious about making it happen,” he added.

Mr Adorye also emphasised the need for reforms to help women maintain their parliamentary seats, pointing out that the political landscape unfairly favours men.

“We need a system that supports women candidates, so they don’t face overwhelming competition every election cycle,” he said.

Reflecting on his own experiences growing up in a rural community, Mr Adorye acknowledged the critical role rural women played in society, emphasising Mr Kyerematen’s determination to uplift them.
