Let’s unite for 2028 elections — Odeneho Appiah
A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for Afigya Kwabre South, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has stressed the need for party members to unite and rebuild the party to face the challenges ahead in 2028.
“If we want to come to power in 2028, we must respect and work with everybody, he said and reminded party executives that their aim should be making the party attractive to voters.
“We cannot force the voters to choose NPP. What we “say” and “do” will attract voters,” he stated.
Odeneho Appiah was addressing the NPP constituency chairmen's caucus of Ghana in Kumasi.
He said it was the responsibility of party leaders to organise and bring people together to build a strong foundation.
Unity
Odeneho Appiah, popularly referred to as COKA, emphasised the need for members of the party to stand united to overcome difficulties, solve problems and make progress.
He said there was a need to promote accountability and transparency for the interest of the party.
“No civilised society will have an issue with those with dissenting views, indeed, democracy should have room for dissenting views,” he said, adding that in any democratic society, the majority position carries the day
He reminded members of the party that they had a great party to protect, to promote, to rebuild, to reorganise and maintain its integrity.
Bridges
Odeneho Appiah stressed the need for all members of the party to set their differences aside and come together as one.
He stressed the need for party executives to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical behaviour within the party, ensuring the overall effectiveness of the executives and their contributions to the party.
‘‘You need to uphold ethical standards; ensure compliance with policies, promote good party governance practices and ensure that the party constitution is respected and followed.
“We have not been defeated; it’s just an experience to improve our wisdom and open our eyes. The fight is not with ourselves, so we shall move forward with God’s direction towards the time when we grow in love and integrity to rebuild and strategise for the future.
“We must guide the executives in developing and implementing the party's strategy, ensuring people are in line with the party's goals and objectives to win the 2028 election, ” he said.
Odeneho Appiah, who was the former chairman of the Ashanti Regional NPP Constituency Chairmen Caucus, said the party needed practical ideas at all levels to promote fairness, accountability, transparency and unity in the interest of the integrity of the party.
