Group roots for Prez Mahama

A group known as Champions of the West, an interest group formed in the Western Region, have endorsed the second term bid of President John  Dramani Mahama.

Members of the group poured out and matched through the principal streets of Takoradi, wielding placards with all kinds of endorsement messages, just  to show solidarity and to drum home support for the President. 

In line with the campaign, they enumerated the achievements of the government, while emphasising why President Mahama ought to receive the nod of Ghanaians in the 2016 polls to continue governing the country. 

According to them, through his competency and incredible leadership, the President had judiciously utilised the country's resources, in  his first four-year tenure by carrying out infrastructural  projects.

Western Region

They said in the Western Region, for instance, a significant number of these development projects had been executed based on the social and economic policies to improve the welfare of the people.

"These interventions have been initiated by the government and specifically targeted at this resource rich region,  and causing vital transformation of all communities.

‘’This is part of the agenda of the government to change lives and transform Ghana. Certainly,  we are of the view that the President has done so much for the region and ought to get the nod to lead Ghana for another four years," Charles Mintaba, spokesperson of the group, said.

Members of the group said many of these projects, visible to the public, had already been completed, while others were at various stages of construction.

Speaking to journalists later, Mr K. Yunus, a leading member of the group, stated, "These development projects we are talking about have been executed to improve the welfare of the people in the region,  and there are others across the nook and cranny of the country".

Projects

Enumerating the development projects one after the other, the group mentioned that the expansion of road infrastructure in the region as unprecedented.
