I’ll improve lot of people — Atiwa West MP
The Member of Parliament for Atiwa West, Mr Kwasi Amoako Atta, has said he will continue to use resources available to him to improve the lot of the people.

In fulfilment of a pledge to improve health delivery and educational systems in the constituency, the MP has donated a number of items .
The items, which comprised 12 medium-size refrigerators, five heavy-duty diesel-powered generators, 30 laptop and desktop computers, two HP desk jets and printers, all valued at GHȻ100,000, were purchased from the MP’s share of the GetFund and the National Health Insurance Authority Fund.
He has already renovated the laboratory of the Engiresi Government Hospital, helped complete four mini-clinics at places such as Tumfa and Adasawase and is currently putting up a modern maternity ward for the Kwabeng Hospital.
According to the MP, the generators were to power the refrigerators to store essential drugs at the mini-clinics spread in the rural communities, since some of those communities had not been hooked to the national grid or experienced regular power outages.
The computers and accessories were to be supplied to some schools, especially those in the remote communities, he said.
Presenting the items at Kwabeng last Friday, Mr Amoako Atta said his ultimate desire was to equip the mini-clinics to properly cater for the sick, and especially women in labour.
He said it was unfortunate that rural dwellers had to travel long distances for medical care and expressed the hope that equipping the mini-clinics would alleviate the suffering of the people who would now be well taken care of at the mini-clinics in their localities.

He expressed his appreciation to the District Chief Executive for Atiwa, Mr Emmanuel Atta Twum, whom he described as a “twin brother”, for his co-operation.
Mr Atta Twum also commended the MP, who he said responded promptly when the assembly sought his assistance to help equip the mini- clinics and some basic schools.
The Atiwa District Director of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Mr Tei Djamgba, called for more assistance for the Engiresi Government Hospital, particularly the provision of residential facilities for the nurses.
The Medical Director of the Engiresi Government Hospital, Dr Kofi Annang, said his outfit was doing its best to reduce infant and maternal deaths.
He called for education to reduce teenage pregnancy in the area.
