'Kayayei' support Akufo-Addo’s campaign with GH¢5000

Head porters, locally referred to as ‘Kayayei’ in the Kumasi Metropolis, Saturday donated an amount of Gh¢5, 000 to support the Presidential ambition of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo.

The head porters, mostly from Northern Ghana, presented the cash as an association at the party’s Fund Raising event held at the Babayara Sports Stadium, Accra-based Citi FM reported.

According to the report, the leader of the Association, Hajia Adiza, who is popularly known in Kumasi as Hajia Adiza Zongo Pioneer, said they donated the money to ensure that Nana Akufo-Addo, does not go around begging for money to become President.

Nana Akufo-Addo previously contested and lost the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections.
