Manya Krobo Council requests dismissal of MCE

The dream of Mr Isaac Tetteh-Agbo to retain his position as the Chief Executive of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly (LMKMA) is gradually fizzling with the latest twist of events which has compelled the Manya Krobo Traditional Council to come out with a resolution to the president requesting the immediate dismissal of the MCE over what it describes as gross misconduct and insubordination.

Tenure

The resolution, dated November 25, 2013, and addressed to the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, indicated that though Hon. Agbo’s tenure expired in May this year, he was illegally at post and was showing no respect to the traditional leaders and other authorities in the municipality including the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon Ebenezer Okletey Terlarbi who is also the Deputy Minister of Defense.

Forty five members of the council including the Konor of Manya Krobo signed the resolution at an emergency traditional council meeting held on Monday, November 25, 2013.

The resolution has since been served on the president while copies have been made available to the Local Government Minister, Eastern Regional Minister, Coordinating Director, LMKMA and the Member of Parliament for the area, among others.

Brand

The council stated that Mr Agbo continued to misrepresent the president, making the NDC brand unpopular with his immaturity which was most evident in his dealings with the traditional authorities.

The statement indicated that the MCE  has no sense of urgency and proves evasive when most needed to solve pressing issues in the municipality.

“Additionally, he has taken to a populist act of projecting himself, virtually appearing on radio and TV shows every morning in his bid to catch the eyes of officials to be retained. He habitually lies about his whereabouts, often using appointments with the Local Government Minister and the Eastern Regional Minister as excuses the last episode was on Thursday November 21, 2013, when he lied about his whereabouts at a critical time when his services were urgently needed,” the statement further indicated.
