NPP's Kwadjo Asante wins Suhum Parliamentary election

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate Kwadjo Asante has won the Suhum Constituency Parliamentary election after polling 34,049 votes.
Asante, an educationist who was contesting for the first time defeated the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Amanda Okyere K. who polled 19,192 votes.
A total of 53,241 valid votes were cast in the poll with 538 rejected ballots.

It will be recalled that Mr Asante stunned the incumbent MP Frederick Opare Ansah nicknamed "Suhum Mugabe" in the NPP Primaries in June this year.
He polled 394 votes with Opare Ansah garnering 272 votes (representing a 122-vote difference), to end the latter's fourth-term as MP.
