Mahama Toure: Ayawaso East Constituency retains MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ayawaso East Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Naser Mahama Toure, has retained his seat.
He polled 23,583 of the total valid vote cast to beat his main contender, Mr Peter Mireku, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) candidate.
Mr Mireku got 14,966 of the total valid votes cast.

In the Presidential poll, Mr John Mahama of the NDC garnered 24,320 while President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Ado had 13,904.
The Ghana Union Movement had 170, CPP; 25, GFP, 12; GCPP, 3, and APC, 9.
The LPG polled 8; PNC, 23; PPP, 12; NDP, 5 and Mr Walker an Independent Candidate got 7.
The total valid votes was 38,498 and there were 493 rejected ballots.
