NPP Women organisers in Ashanti Region call for jobs
The Ashanti Regional Constituency Women Organisers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to give them and their auxiliary staff whose contributions at polling stations brought the party to power the first option in the operation of the national School Feeding Programme.
The group, led by spokesperson Abigail Osei Tawiah of the Suame Constituency, said the role played by the women and their staff at various polling stations could not be overemphasised and that it was only fair that they were rewarded.

The women made the appeal through the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Chief Executive, Mr Osei Assibey Antwi, when they officially called on him to congratulate him on his appointment and urge him to champion their cause.
They expressed regret that none of them had been considered for any position and expressed the hope that their toil would not be forgotten.
Madam Tawiah urged the mayor to do all in his power to ensure that the needs of women at all fronts, especially those within the party, were addressed to encourage others to sacrifice for the NPP.
Call for calm
Mr Antwi called for calm and said the President was systematic in his appointments and it was too early for anyone to complain of being left out.
He said the apparent delay in the President’s appointment to key positions was in line with his policy of laying a ‘solid foundation’ to rebuild the country.
Much as he agreed that the needs of the party members needed to be considered, the mayor said President Akufo-Addo was a President for all Ghanaians and that such contracts as School Feeding Programme were not meant for only members of the party.

That notwithstanding, Mr Antwi said he would liaise with the Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, the various Members of Parliament (MPs), as well as party bigwigs on how best to tackle their request.
He said the President was working towards fulfilling all his campaign promises, including the ‘’one-district, one-factory’’ and ‘’one-village, one-dam’’ policies and all hands should be on deck.
The mayor called on the women to help him fight filth in the Kumasi Metropolis, as well as intensify education on by-laws and their implementation.
