Political parties undertake peace walk
The North Dayi commander of the Ghana Police Service, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Emmanuel Twumasi-Ankrah, has advised the public to uphold the peaceful overtures that led the nation to conduct peaceful elections in the past.

Record on peace after six elections
He said a record had been set by the nation for having gone through the elections without resorting to violence.
‘You should not be divided, you should not attack your opponents, you should not do anything that will provoke your opponents, you should not incite people to violence through provocative conducts, all that you should do is to support the police to ensure a peaceful election,” he said.
Mr Twumasi-Ankrah was addressing members of political parties and an independent candidate for the North Dayi Constituency at the forecourt of the district assembly after a peace walk over three kilometres, from Vakpo to Anfoega last Saturday.
The walk was aimed at drumming home virtues the people should uphold for a successful electoral outcome.
Participants
Parties present were the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the Convention People’s Party (CPP), and the National Democratic Party (NDP). An independent candidate, Mr Wogbe Kpikpitse, was also present.
They carried placards, some of which read, “You can argue, don’t fight”; “Election cannot divide us, let’s unite now”, and “We need a peaceful president”.
Mr Twumasi-Ankrah said the police would ensure a successful election.

The queenmother of Anfoega Akukome, Mama Afua Diaba III, commended those who took part in the peace walk and advised them to be circumspect in their interaction with the social media, adding that they should feel free in making their choice of candidates without any coercion.
“North Dayi needs development, not war,” she said.
No immunity for trouble rousers
The North Dayi District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Stephen Timinka, asked the people to appreciate the ongoing development projects in the district but said any person who violated the law during the election season would not enjoy any immunity.
Mr Timinka said they should open up to all political parties and listen to their messages to enable them to interrogate them to make a good decision.
