You have nothing to fear in my govt-Nana Akufo-Addo

The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has assured the Paramount Chief of the Kusaug Traditional Area, Bawku Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka ll that he has nothing to fear from his government when he is elected.

This is because when elected as President of Ghana, he would not meddle in the domestic chieftaincy issue in the area.

Peace in Bawku

He said his main preoccupation would be to see to the maintenance of peace and development of not only Bawku but also the Upper East Region.

''Naba, you have nothing to fear in  the presidency of Nana Akufo-Addo, you will have a fair, firm and reliable friend to help develop Bawku''.

Nana Akufo-Addo said that on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy call on the Bawku Naba at his palace as part of his three- day campaign tour of the Upper East Region.

He was accompanied by his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr Alan Kojo Kyeremanteng, the National Women`s Organiser, Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba, the Member of Parliament for Mampong, Mr Addai Nimo, the Deputy Minority Leader, Mr Dominic Nitiwul, Dr Konadu Apraku and  some national, regional and constituency executive members of the party.

Infrastructural deficit in region

He said there was a lot to be done in the Upper East Region and the NPP would help improve the infrastructural deficit with regard to the road network, health, agriculture and education.

Nana Akufo-Addo said in tandem with his one district one factory promise; he would revive the Bawku Rice Mills, Oil Mills and brick and tile factories which were not functioning.

He commended the people of the Bawku Traditional Area for the prolonged and sustained peace and assured them of his desire to partner the Bawku Inter Ethnic Peace Committee to find a lasting and sustainable peace when elected President of Ghana.

Bawku Naba Azoka commended Nana Akufo-Addo for expressing concern towards the peace and development of the area.

Rallies

Speaking at separate rallies in Bawku, Garu and Bongo, Dr Bawumia said the National Democratic Congress had come to mismanage the economy of the country and plunged the people into hardship.
