The conference, which is being held at the Flagstaff House at 11 a.m. is expected to be attended by about 80 journalists from across the country.

The event will mark exactly one year when President Mahama was sworn in as the President of Ghana.

Information from the Flagstaff House Communications Bureau indicated that the news conference was President Mahama’s way of marking his first anniversary.

Some ministers of state and other government appointees are billed to attend the news conference, which will be shown live on Ghana Television (GTV).

President Mahama won the December 2012 presidential election on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and was subsequently sworn in as the President of Ghana on January 7, 2013.

His government has since embarked on projects in the educational, health and roads sectors and undertaken general infrastructural development. There are however other projects and programmes that need to be tackled.

The press conference will, therefore, give journalists the chance to ask the President to give account of his achievements in his first year in office.
