The President, John Dramani Mahama, is not worried about any healthy internal competition in the party that will lead to the presidential election.

This is because the President is confident of emerging victorious both in the internal elections and the presidential election in 2016.
Nominations forms
This was announced by the Vice-President of Ghana, Dr Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur, when he picked nominations forms on behalf of President Mahama at the NDC headquarters in Accra Thursday.
He said his entourage to the headquarters to renew the mandate of the President, which included some esteemed elders in the persons of Mr Lionel K. Mobila and Mrs Amoako Nuamah, signalled the unity in the party which was solidly behind the re-election bid of the President.
He, therefore, called for unfettered access to every member who was interested in any of the positions to pick his/her forms to contest in the primary since NDC was a democratic party.

The General Secretary of the NDC, Mr Asiedu Nketia, who handed over the presidential nominations forms to the Vice-President after he had paid GHc1,000, said as far as he was concerned, the President was the first person to pick the presidential nominations forms which were in his custody.
He said the forms, which are in triplicate, had to be endorsed by the general secretary before being handed over to any presidential aspirant.
He said any presidential forms that were not endorsed by the general secretary were not valid and should not be entertained.
On the parliamentary primaries, he explained that parliamentary aspirants would have to travel to their constituencies to pick forms from their constituency secretaries.
He said the party had formulated guidelines and all the procedures to follow for presidential and parliamentary primaries.
He said it was practically impossible therefore for anybody to have purportedly picked the presidential forms from the headquarters of the party without his endorsement.
He said what was given out by the accountant and the administrative officer was a draft copy.
